Vintage Heinz Plastic Green Pickle Pin1 1/4 Inch long with a pinback.
H.J. Heinz was a marketing genius, and developed the idea for the pickle pin at the 1983 Chicago World's Fair. In hopes of drawing attention to the company's display, he offered a "free gift" for people who visited his booth and tasted samples. The Heinz Co. also distributed pickle pins at the World's Fair in 1896, 1898 and 1939.
I was given this pin by my grandfather, who was born in 1923 and grew up in Long Island, NY. The 1939 World's Fair was held in Queens, NY, so I'm guessing that's where he got the pin. Regardless, it's a cool pin from the historic Heinz, Co. from Pittsburgh, PA. It is definitely not a newer version (I've had it since 1985).
Condition is Used, but overall in good shape with no noticeable damage (see images). Shipped safely, securely and quickly with USPS First Class Mail.
