    Description

Large-format fold-out 1934 road map of Italy, published by the Reale Automobile Club d'Italia (RACI) more than 85 years ago.
This map opens to a generous 81 x 67 cm [31¾" x 26¼"] and has great detail on old highway alignments and road conditions (very good, good, not very good, bad).
It also locates roads under construction, ferries, tunnels, provincial capitals, cities, towns, and RACI offices.
There are hundreds of place names on the map, including Venezia, Roma, Milano, Firenze, Palermo, Siena, Milano, Cagliari, Catania, Torino, Messina, Napoli, Genoa, and Ferrara, as well as Trieste and Fiume, at the time still part of Italy.
The map is identified in the legend as the "1934 Summer Edition" and there's a logo in the lower corner for ENIT (Ente Nazionale Industrie Turistiche), the Italian State Tourist Department.
