Description

Give A Dog A Bone "Ringo" London Westminster Theater original costume sketch by Dorothy Phillips circa 1963. You can watch a film of the production on vimeo! Not sure when the opening night was of Give A Dog A Bone. Design is from around 1962-1963, as a fellow ebayer informed me. (FYI his father was music director!)  Signed, with fabric swatches attached. Acquired in Los Angeles estate sale. Measures 11x14.
Below is an excerpt describing the production organization:
"After the war in Britain, hundreds donated money for the purchase of the Westminster Theatre in London, as a living memorial to the men and women of Moral Re-Armament who had died in war service. Many servicemen gave their gratuities. For the next 50 years the Theatre presented a host of plays and musicals focusing on the moral and spiritual base on which a just and democratic society depends. One of the best-known was the pantomime Give a Dog a Bone, which ran every Christmas for many years, to the delight of thousands of children."
This will be shipped double boxed and insured as a preventative to damage.
