Charles Carmel Coney Island Carousel Horse Replica Working Music Box & Moves 24". Condition is "used" and "vintage". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. This is a large Carousel horse. It is a replica of the one Charles Carmel created for the Coney Island Carousel in 1912. The horse is mounted on a wooden box that measures approximately 13 x 7 x 6. The box is in good condition, with only a few surface scratches. The horse is mounted on a brass pole and will easily swivel full circle. There is an on/off switch on the power cord. When on, the horse moves up and down the pole. There is a button along one side of the wooden box, and when depressed, the music box plays. The sounds and action bring back so many memories of riding on the carousel horses. The horse itself shows its age. I notice a couple of white paint touch-ups on the horse's underside. The horse has been created with body seams. One seam is where the neck meets the body and the other seam is around his belly. The seam around his belly is separating on one side more than the opposite side. I have tried to show this detail in a close-up photo. Otherwise, he looks marvelous. The total height from base to top of pole is approximately 24". I do not have the original box, so I do not know the exact creation date. I do, however, have the molded styrofoam that will make the shipment easier. The package is large and heavy. I have listed two shipping options for ground shipments.
