catalina island pottery footed oval bowl (15" x 9 1/2" x 3") Gladding McBean

Description

This piece is from my own collection. It is in excellent condition. No crazing, no chips or cracks. This piece was made on the mainland between 1937-1941. The pottery and molds were purchased by Gladding McBean in 1937 and moved to the mainland. Pottery made on the island was stamped "Catalina Island", while the pottery made on the mainland after the sale was marked "Catalina Pottery Made in the USA" which is what this item has on it.
